Taking out the OUT SLANTS!?!?!

Yes it is true. The outslants have been removed from madden 13 and replaced with what many people call "zigzags", "in and outs", "bulldog", etc. The route is roughly an in-slant then after a few steps cutting to the outside in a parrallel fashion to the line of scrimmage. hopefully that makes sense. The route was featured in a few plays in some playbooks and was an extremely good man beater. It is uncertain if the new read and react system will make this route less effective, but there are many questions that we will have to wait to be answered. It seems now that the demo to NCAA Football 13 keeps these routes very effective, but many things can change due to the fact that the demo is sometimes drastically different from the actual game in some aspects. I know many people that have based alot of their scheme on out slants, including myself on some plays. Leave your replys telling me whether you like the change or not.

The outside receiver shouldn't be allowed to do the outside slant, but any other slot or te should be allowed imo.

i mean as much as i do not like slant outs i dont think they should remove them from the game they should just make them easier for the defence to guard and make them less effective so i am just saying they cant just replace it with another route and the other route seems like it would be harder for the defence to guard

I am sure within a few hours of the games release, someone will find some way of motioning or audibling to get a few slant outs. It will just be harded than last year.

I never use them anyway, dont need to. I hope they add a new hot route that is useful though.
