NBA Live 14, Madden 25, FIFA 14, and UFC Coming to XBOX One

In what was surely one of the biggest gaming events of the year, Microsoft announced their new game console called the XBOX One.  During this announcement, EA Sports executive Andrew Wilson took the stage to show off a little bit about what to expect from sports video games on the new system.

A trailer, available below, displayed the first footage of FIFA 14, Madden 25, UFC, and NBA Live 14.  All of the sports games available on the XBOX One will be built on what is being called the “Ignite Engine.”

A release date for the XBOX one nor the games mentioned above was not released other than that we can expect the XBOX One to be available by the end of the year and that all 4 games will be available within the next 12 months.

More news on both the XBOX One and EA Sports’ next generation titles will be available in a few short weeks at E3.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments section.

FIFA 14 Release Date Confirmed

FIFA 14 will be released on September 24th, 2013 in the United States and it will make its way across most of the world within a week or so.  The first FIFA 14 news came out last week to a bit of an underwhelming response, but nonetheless the game looks very promising.

Other noteworthy information that came out today includes the (not in any way shocking) pricing for FIFA 14 as well as the cover art featuring Lionel Messi.  The game will cost $60 on the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, while it will cost $40 on handheld devices like the PS Vita.

The consoles that FIFA 14 has been confirmed on at this point are the PlayStation 3, XBOX 360, PlayStation 4, and the PS Vita.  We expect it to also make its way onto the new XBOX which will be announced on May 21st.

EA Sports Announces New FIFA 14 Features

The first real FIFA 14 news trickled out today with EA Sports announcing a few additions and improvements to their wildly popular video game.  There were 5 major points highlighted.  Those include real ball physics, teammate intelligence, a global scouting network, pure shot, and protect the ball.  We have more details about each below.

Real Ball Physics

Strike the ball with more force and finesse. Realistic ball physics now determines the trajectories of balls in game, enabling players to strike the ball with force from distance, drill low rising shots with accuracy, and blast dipping or swerving shots, just like real footballers.

Teammate Intelligence

Better decision-making delivers tighter, smarter marking and improved run tracking. Defenders recognize opportunities to provide support and win back possession. Attacking players have new ways to outsmart their opponents and break down tighter, more intelligent defenses by creating space for themselves, running along the backline and checking their pace.

Global Scouting Network

Experience the world of professional scouting as you search for talent around the world. Develop and refine your own scouting network. Evaluate footballers to uncover the attributes of players who could bolster your squad during the transfer windows. A new hub delivers easy navigation, fewer interruptions and live scouting reports.

Pure Shot

Experience the world of professional scouting as you search for talent around the world. Develop and refine your own scouting network. Evaluate footballers to uncover the attributes of players who could bolster your squad during the transfer windows. A new hub delivers easy navigation, fewer interruptions and live scouting reports.

Protect The Ball

Fend-off and block defenders from the ball while dribbling at any speed. Protect the ball from opponents to control play through midfield and dictate the tempo of the match. Plus, out-muscle opponents for position before receiving the ball, then turn defenders to carve out opportunities.
