Eric “Problem” Wright Wins Madden 13 Challenge

Those of us in the competitive Madden community shutter when we hear the name Problem.  Beat him once and you suddenly have the respect of the entire Madden world.  He is as close to a Madden celebrity as you can get.  Most agree that he is the greatest Madden player of all time before he set foot in Las Vegas to compete in this year’s Virgin Gaming/EA Sports Madden Challenge.

After dominating the field, he is now 140k richer and has another accomplishment added to his storied Madden career.  Most people have attributed his success this year to his legendary user stick skills.  Even more remarkably, his 46 Under defensive scheme is copied by just about everyone yet no one gets the results he does.

There is no end in sight for Eric “Problem” Wright.  He plans on picking up Madden 25 and will attempt to defend his Madden Challenge 2013 title next year.

Congratulations on your win Problem.  Best of luck next year!

NCAA Football 14 Release Date Announced

After plenty of speculation, EA Sports has announced the release date for this year’s edition of their college football series, NCAA Football 14.  We will be able to get our hands on the game just slightly earlier than usual with it hitting stores on July 9th, 2013.

NCAA 14 will be released on both the PlayStation 3 and the XBOX 36o.  There still is no word as to whether it will be coming to next generation consoles like the PlayStation 4 that are set to come out later this year.

NCAA Football 13 showed a strong improvement from the previous year’s game setting the stage for a higher than usual expectation level for NCAA Football 14.  Some people still play the NCAA series as a preparation for the Madden NFL series that comes out in August but their is a growing number of fans who play NCAA Football exclusively.  Strong reviews from critics in July is something EA Sports could really use as they kick off their sports title releases for this year.

July 9th falls on a Tuesday this year so those of you planning to take the day off of work should make plans accordingly.

3 Point Shooting Tips in NBA 2K13

Like it or not, 3 point shooting is a huge part of basketball video games.  It always has been and it always will be the same way gamers choose to throw hail mary passes in Madden NFL instead of rushing the football.  With that in mind, it is a good idea for anyone thinking of playing NBA 2K13 online or against friends offline to have a decent idea of how best to shoot the 3 pointer in this year’s game.

Hilarious Physics Fail in Madden 13

Every now and then we come across a video that we feel has to be shared.  Lucky for you today just happens to be one of those days.  The improvements to the physics engine in Madden 13 have been well documented.  However, as with any major improvement there are slight problems.  The team from GameFails received a submission from one of their users that they were kind enough to spread to the world.

Their are a few hilarious things in the video below but what seems to be overlooked is the fact that any 2 people would choose the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills to play with.

Anyway, it isn’t really important what we think, check out the video below for yourself.  Let us know what you think of this epic fail in the comments section below.

Madden 13 Patch #3 Goes Public

Madden 13 has been somewhat of a sensation to track.  There seems to be more and more people who are complaining about the game but sales have been rising and most unbiased reviewers agree that the steps that EA Sports took this year to improve the Madden NFL franchise have been great.

In any attempt to continue to improve on one of their biggest games of the year, the EA Sports crew has released the third patch of the year mostly targetting a few gameplay tweaks, and adding some things into the new connected career mode.

With any new mode, you expect minor flaws.  As long as they are identified and addressed promptly, most fans don’t have much of an issue with it.  The approach of the development team this year has been outstanding especially when the steady release of weekly roster updates are considered.

The team at Madden-School has the full breakdown of what is addressed in this patch.  What would you like to see in the next one?  Let us know in the comments section.

NBA 2K13 Review

The IGN team has completed their NBA 2K13 review.  The animation and gameplay are so good that from a long distance it legitimately looks like you are watching a real NBA game.  The commentary is also very polished and as good as its ever been.

While there are still flaws like every game, it is a giant step forward.  We included the full video below for those of you who want a more detailed look at NBA 2K13.
