NCAA Football 14 Demo Release Date Scheduled

Big news coming out of the EA Sports booth at E3 in Los Angeles.  The much anticipated demo for the first major sports video game of the year, NCAA Football 14, will be coming to both the PlayStation 3 and the XBOX 360 on Tuesday, June 18th.  The release date aligns with the industry standard of about 3 weeks prior to the full game.

As always, you will be allowed to download the NCAA 14 demo via the PSN Store and XBOX Live.

NCAA Football 14 will not be on the PlayStation 4 or the XBOX one this year but look for NCAA 15 to be on the next gen consoles.

Unfortunately we don’t know which teams will be featured in the NCAA Football 14 demo or any other details such as quarter length or specific features it will be highlighting.

NCAA Football 14 in it’s full version is scheduled to come out on July 9th, 2013.  PreOrder.org has a great page with all sorts of NCAA Football 14 information for those of you who ae craving more news.

Recruiting and Coach Skills Highlight NCAA Football 14 Dynasty Mode

The internet seems to be torn about today’s announcement on NCAA Football 14 dynasty mode.  As fans, we expect games with yearly installations to build on the previous version in an effort constantly make a better game.  At the same time, we want improvements and the removal of features we don’t like.

Based on the announcement today, it doesn’t seem as if much has been added to dynasty mode in NCAA 14.  Recruiting has been simplified from something that was fairly in-depth to a simple point allocation system.  From one viewpoint, this is a great addition because it is much less time consuming.  However, other fans are outraged because it was a popular part of the game that required some strategy and thinking.

The other feature touched on in the video this morning was Coach skills being added to this year’s game.  That seems like a feature that was added just to say that they added something as it doesn’t seem to do all that much.

NBA Live 14, Madden 25, FIFA 14, and UFC Coming to XBOX One

In what was surely one of the biggest gaming events of the year, Microsoft announced their new game console called the XBOX One.  During this announcement, EA Sports executive Andrew Wilson took the stage to show off a little bit about what to expect from sports video games on the new system.

A trailer, available below, displayed the first footage of FIFA 14, Madden 25, UFC, and NBA Live 14.  All of the sports games available on the XBOX One will be built on what is being called the “Ignite Engine.”

A release date for the XBOX one nor the games mentioned above was not released other than that we can expect the XBOX One to be available by the end of the year and that all 4 games will be available within the next 12 months.

More news on both the XBOX One and EA Sports’ next generation titles will be available in a few short weeks at E3.

Madden 25 Defensive Gameplay Trailer

After publicly announcing that a defensive trailer would be released on Monday, EA Sports backtracked and said they would instead release it when they are ready.  That day has come, 2 days later, in the form of a YouTube video under 90 seconds.

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense on how it could take 2 additional days to put finishing touches on a video that is only about 60 seconds with all the intro/outro fluff cut out.  EA Sports has really been struggling with their marketing of late recently as PastaPadre noted in a recent blog post.

The trailer focusing on defense in Madden 25 can be seen below.  Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

NHL 14 Collision Physics Trailer

Those of you who love big hits and were slightly disappointed with the ability to deliver them in the past, will love the all new Collision System in NHL 14.  With a physics engine developed from the popular EA Sports franchise FIFA, you will see all new big hit interactions.  There are are over 250 different hits and reactions included in this year’s game.

A noticeable improvement in NHL 14 is that both players bodies, (the one delivering the hit and the one taking the hit) react appropriately and within the limits of the human body.  This is done through the new physics engine that is making its way into all EA Sports games.

Join the producer of the NHL 14 franchise, Sean Ramjagsingh, in the 2 minute video below to learn all about the new collision physics in this year’s hockey video game.

NHL 14 Cover Vote Proceeds To Round 2

The NHL 14 cover vote has advanced to the 2nd round of voting with 32 players advancing from the original field.  This round is a little different then previous voting rounds.  Instead of head to head matchups in the traditional tournament style form, you are free to choose any 16 out of the 32 available choices to advance to the next round.

The Sharks and the Maple Leafs are the only teams that still have 2 players in contention.  Every other team only has 1 candidate left so vote wisely.  Voting for this round ends on Sunday, May 5th.  If you have a specific player in mind you’d like to see on the NHL 14 cover, you can vote via Twitter on Thursday to get double points.

The voting for round 2 is open today at NHL.com. If you are interested in pre ordering NHL 14 or if you just want to find out everything we know so far about the upcoming hockey video game, that information can be found at the PreOrder.org NHL 14 page.
