Yet another promo video came out of the EA Sports YouTube channel earlier today hinting at the huge NHL 13 news that is supposed to be dropping this Friday. The trailer shows how NHL 11 changed the way sports games were made by adding real physics. A change of that nature will be added to NHL 13 so be sure to check back here on Friday, May 18th for the full scoop.
The first trailer for NHL 13 came out earlier today from the EA Sports YouTube channel. Although it doesn’t show too much and can only really be considered a teaser, it does hint at what they are referring to as a “gameplay revolution.” There is an official announcement about what this new feature will include coming this Friday.

The NHL 13 cover vote has progressed to the round of 16. This cover vote has worked much differently than other EA Sports tournaments and the round of 16 is no different. From now until May 3rd you can vote on only 4 out of the 8 matchups (just those on the left side of the bracket). After May 3rd you will be allowed to vote in the other 4 matchups.

Fans of EA Sports’ NHL 13 game have the ability to vote for their favorite player to grace the cover of this year’s game. Many people in the community are hesitant to vote for players on their favorite teams because of the perception of a cover curse. Some even intentionally vote for players from their rival’s team hoping to curse them. The Madden NFL series has suffered from this curse for over a decade (just look at how Peyton Hillis performed after gracing the Madden 12 cover).
EA Sports wants to make it very clear that players who have been on the last 3 NHL video game covers have far exceeded expectations and had great years. So when deciding who to vote for in the NHL 13 cover tournament keep in mind that if history is any indication, the player that makes the cover will do wonderful. Place your vote at NHL.com. The Madden 13 cover vote has been under way for a few weeks now and because of it’s wild success EA Sports is expanding the idea to other sports video game titles like NHL 13. The NHL 13 cover vote begins today over on NHL.com with 2 representative from each team. The first round runs through April 11th when the tournament will be narrowed down to 30 players.
In the round of 30, the 16 players with the most overall votes will advance to the round of 16 where it will proceed as a normal tournament. Who would you like to see on the NHL 13 cover?
Major retailers such as Amazon.com have the NHL 13 release date listed for September 11, 2012. This announcement comes as no surprise considering that last year’s hockey game, NHL 12, came out on September 13th. EA Sports generally releases demos for their games 3-4 weeks before the release date so we should be playing another hockey game by mid-August.
