EA Sports has listed PlayStation Vita as a console that you will be able to play Madden 13 on.  After the relative success FIFA 12 had on the PS Vita it looks like Electronic Arts is expanding it’s PlayStation Vita presence to other sports video games including Madden 13.

There is still no word on a feature set or cross platform compatibility but the future is looking bright for sports video games on handheld devices.  What would you like to see in Madden NFL 13 on the PlayStation Vita?  Let us know in the comments section.

MLB 12: The Show PS3 & PS Vita Combo Deal

Tigers vs. Yankees MLB 12

If you plan on buying both the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita version of MLB 12: The Show you are in luck.  PlayStation announced today that you will be able to get a combo deal for only $79.99.  Individually the PS3 version costs for $59.99 and the PS Vita version costs $39.99 so if you are going to buy them both anyway you save $20.

As of right now there hasn’t been an official announcement on which retailers this offer is good through but Best Buy is very likely to be part of the deal since they have exclusive rights to playing MLB 12: The Show early.  The promotion goes hand in hand with the cross platform compatibility feature that PlayStation has been pushing hard.  Pretty much anything you do on one console you can save to the PlayStation Network and then use on the other console.

MLB 12: The Show hits stores across the country on March 6th.

Cross Platform Compatibility in MLB 12: The Show

One of the coolest features in MLB 12: The Show is the cross platform compatibility function.  Essentially this allows you to take a game that you were playing on your PlayStation 3 directly to your PS Vita.  So if you were in the middle of a close game in the 8th inning but you had to go somewhere and you just couldn’t wait to finish the game, you could finish it up on your PS Vita.  It works the other way as well.  If you have some free time at work, you can start a game on your PS Vita and finish it up on your PS3 when you get home.

Sony released a video advertisement showcasing this new feature on their PlayStation Youtube channel.  You can see it below:
