EA Sports has released the first gameplay trailer for NCAA Football 14.  At this point, it is hard to tell whether there are actually significant improvements to NCAA 14 or whether it is just pre-release hype.

The trailer focuses mostly on core gameplay by highlighting the improved physics called Infinity Engine 2.  This is the first edition of the NCAA Football series that will include real physics.  The idea behind the physics engine is that virtual players will have to follow the laws of physics.  This would hypothetically make the gameplay seem more realistic.  The physics engine was in Madden 13 and while it wasn’t as revolutionary as some had hoped, it did add a level of realism to the game the wasn’t there before.

Other notable features highlighted in the video are the improvements being made to the running game.  Gamers will now have the ability to accelerate through a hole.  You will notice a whole new array of juke moves in the video.

EA Sports has also mentioned that run blocking will be improved in NCAA Football 14.  Based on years past, the blocking game could use a whole lot of work.

EA Sports has released the first screenshot for their popular college football video game titled NCAA Football 14.  It features and Oregon Duck player #7 juking an opposing USC Trojans defender #16.

The screenshot, pictured above, doesn’t tell us all that much about the upcoming game.  However, it does signal the start of what should now be constant news, information, and videos coming out of EA Sports’ headquarters detailing what we can expect from NCAA 14.

NCAA Football 14 is still scheduled to come out on July 9th, 2013.  It will be available on both the PlayStation 3 and the XBOX 360.

Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has won the EA Sports NCAA Football 14 cover vote tournament.  Robinson beat out Texas A&M receiver Ryan Swope to land his spot on the cover.

The choice is absolutely the correct one considering how dominant Denard Robinson was on previous NCAA Football video games.  Each of the past 3 years he was easily one of the top 5 players in the game.  Even before Michigan’s recent re-emergence to football prominence, a lot of people would pick the Wolverines simply because their QB, Denard Robinson, was so effective in the game.

The cover vote started with 8 players and lasted a few months.  The cheating scandal in the finals will likely impact the way all future sports game cover votes will be handled.  Now that it has wrapped up, EA Sports has launched their Madden 25 cover tournament which will conclude in late April.

NCAA Football 14 is still scheduled to come out on July 9th of this year on both the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3 consoles.  There is still no word on if it will make its way onto future generation consoles like the PS4 or XBOX 720.

The first real news about the NCAA Football franchise traditionally comes out in mid-late March.  Look for some of the major issues from NCAA Football 13 to be addressed.

News came out of EA Sports’ NCAA Football 14 twitter account earlier today that voting irregularities a.k.a. cheating has taken place in the cover vote between Texas A&M’s Ryan Swope and Michigan’s Denard Robinson.  Apparently some fans have taken the vote so seriously that they created thousands of fake FaceBook profiles to cast extra votes.

Apparently the event that trigger the investigation took place yesterday when Denard Robinson was leading by almost 7,000 votes.  Within a matter of hours, that lead had been wiped out and Ryan Swope had taken over.  An investigation into the matter by EA Sports apparently uncovered the fake profiles.

This certainly could have been avoided had EA Sports decided to use a different platform to host the voting.  It is notoriously easy to manipulate FaceBook’s polling feature.

There is still no word on how exactly the fake voting impacted the standing or whether it was just on the Texas A&M’s side.  Voting closes tomorrow and we’d expect to get an answer by then.
