MLB 2K12 Demo Arrives Next Week

mlb 2k12 demo release date

The MLB 2K12 demo will arrive on Tuesday, February 28th on both the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3.  Those who download the demo will be able to play in a World Series rematch of the Texas Rangers vs. the St. Louis Cardinals (but only for 3 innings). This is a giant leap forward for MLB 2K12.  They haven’t released too much information regarding their upcoming game but by releasing the demo, they allow fans to decide for themselves.

We still haven’t heard any news about a possible MLB 12: The Show demo.  It could be that SCEA feels that they have done a good enough job on previous games to establish credibility so they see no need to put a demo out.  If the MLB 2K12 demo is any good and there isn’t a MLB 12: The Show demo, some bargain hunting fans may decide to purchase the NBA/MLB 2K12 combo pack from Amazon for only $69.99.

Will There Be An MLB 12: The Show Demo?

mlb 12 the show demo release date

With under 2 weeks until MLB 12: The Show hits stores, there is still no word from SCEA or Sony on a release date for the demo.  At this point many fans are speculating that there will not be a pre-release demo at all.  If in fact there is no demo, it sends a very negative signal to baseball video game fans.  There is still a very real possibility that the demo will be released next week.

The Show’s main competitor, MLB 2K12, has been even quieter about the possibility of a demo for their game.  Other than the Kate Upton video, the $1 million dollar perfect game competition, and a 5 point feature list, we don’t know anything about MLB 2K12.  When put against 2K12, MLB 12 The Show can’t do any wrong but not releasing a demo would really hurt the ability to expand their fan base.

NBA Live 13 Game Confirmed

nba live 13 confirmed!

EA Sport’s NBA Live series is back!  After attempting to re-brand the series into NBA Elite and then completely scratching it all together, Electronic Arts has decided to bring back it’s NBA video game series under it’s original name, NBA Live.  Earlier today Kyrie Irving tweeted that he was playing NBA Live 13 which EA later confirmed as the name of this year’s NBA game.

Even though many argue that 2K Sports has created the better “sim” basketball game over the last few years, having competition surely will not hurt.  There will be more news coming from EA Sports on NBA Live 13 coming next Monday.

Rumor: Madden 13 To Feature Kinect Support

xbox 360 madden 13 cover

A few days ago Amazon.com released their pre order page for Madden 13 and along with it an early cover of the game.  The cover for the XBOX 360 version clearly states that Madden 13 will have the capability to be played with the Kinect.  EA Sports hasn’t confirmed or denied this rumor but if it is true the possibilities could be pretty great.  However, the PlayStation 3 cover does not hint at any PlayStation Move capability.  It is still early but it doesn’t make too much sense why EA Sports would play favorites between the major consoles.

The Madden NFL 13 cover tournament kicks off on March 7th so the cover you see above will change.

FIFA Street World Tour Mode

FIFA Street’s world tour is a socially connected game mode that allows you to create yourself in the game, build a team just the way you want it, and become the best street player in the world.  You will start off as an unknown local player.  By competing and winning different tournaments and challenges you will continue to move up levels until you are competing in world stage tournaments.

As you go through your journey in the world tour mode, you will be able to customize your player with new skills and styles.  You can change the way your player looks as well as add progressively cool tricks.  World tour is just one of the many game modes coming to FIFA Street in March so be on the look out for more great videos on new features in the coming weeks.

Madden 13: Defense is The New Focus

defense in madden nfl 13

Earlier today Game Informer released an interview with Electronic Art’s chief creative officer Richard Hilleman with some early news about what we can expect in Madden 13.  In this interview Hilleman made it clear that the new development team in charge of Madden NFL 13 would focus on making defense fun again.

They are doing big things this year,” he said. “They’re making big changes. Those are big changes that are going to break a lot of stuff, and they know that. What we’re after is a better defense that’s more fun to play.

Madden 13 is still months away so there is plenty of time to improve the defensive experience.  Making the game more realistic has always been a concern of the Madden community.  Improving the defense is a huge step in the right direction.
