The cover for FIFA 13 has been released. This will be the worldwide cover so depending which region you are in, you will see Messi along with other players from that region.
This is the first cover Messi has graced, and it for sure will not be the last. Messi has signed a longterm deal with EA Sports, so expect to see the face of Messi everywhere.

Sports video game season is right around the corner which means here at VG Strategy we are gearing up for another great year of tips, strategy, and discussion. Demos will start to come out soon (NCAA Football 13’s demo is already out) and marketing pushes from the different companies will try to get you excited about their upcoming games.

After months of voting, the NHL 13 cover vote has finally come to an end. Claude Girioux of the Philedelphia Flyers beat out Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators. The most astonishing part of the cover vote is the margin of victory in the finals. Girioux only beat out Rinne by less than 1% of the total fan vote.
Over 26 million votes were cast in the nearly 3 month voting period with 2 million votes alone in the finals. Next year maybe EA Sports will realize how short an attention span sports gamers and the media have and make it a 1 month contest instead of 3 months.
NHL 13 comes out on September 11, 2012.
By now most of you who really care about NCAA Football 13 probably have had the chance to get a few hours in with the NCAA Football 13 demo. It is natural for everyone to have different opinions on how good it is and what still needs improvements. NCAA Football 13 will hit stores on July 1oth.

One of the lead producers on NHL 13, Sean Ramjagsingh (Rammer as he is known to those that follow the NHL franchise closely) has confirmed via Twitter that the NHL 13 demo will feature this year’s two Stanley Cup finalists te Los Angeles Kings and the New Jersey Devils.
Although we don’t know the exact date that the demo will come out, our research looking into the last 3 demo release dates estimates that it should come out around August 20th.

Madden 13 will have a defensive commit system. Many of you may remember something similiar from past NCAA Football games. You can run commit to the right, left, up the middle, or commit to a pass. This is great to combat the people who run the same play over and over again or the people that never call any run plays.
However, the bad news is that the defense still grossly overcommits. If you run commit to the right, your entire defense will pretty much forget the play that was called and just sprint to the right allowing easy touchdowns if you guess wrong. Even if you guess correctly, your opponent can still have their running back cutback and again you are out of luck.
While the idea of the feature is good, hopefully it can be improved via a patch or come Madden 14. Let us know your thoughts on the run/pass commit system in Madden NFL 13 in the comments section.
