The Madden 13 cover candidates for teams in the AFC North trickled out today.  The Browns, Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers each have 2 of their best players represented.

In one of the coolest choices this year, EA Sports decided to nominate Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas partly because he is the best young tackle in the league but also because there is really no one else on the Browns they could choose.  The Bengals rookies A.J. Green and Andy Dalton played very well last year so they too got the nod to represent their team in the Madden 13 cover vote.

Voting starts on March 7th.  You can see the full list below.

Cleveland Browns: Joe Haden, Joe Thomas
Pittsburgh Steelers: Troy Polamalu, Ben Rothlisberger
Baltimore Ravens: Ray Rice, Terrell Suggs
Cincinnate Bengals: Andy Dalton, A.J. Green

Even though it is Sunday, EA Spots continues to announce the players eligible for the Madden 13 cover vote starting on March 7th.  Today is all about the NFC South.

Each of the 4 teams in the division had their quarterback selected to compete for the cover which speaks to how loaded that division is. Tight end Jimmy Graham makes his debut onto the big stage representing the New Orleans Saints.  The big favorite from the division is probably Cam Newton.  Neither player from the Tampa Bay Bucs has any real chance of winning.  You can see the full list of potential cover athletes for Madden 13 below.

Tampa Bay Bucs: LeGarrette Blount, Josh Freeman
New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham
Atlanta Falcons: Julio Jones, Matt Ryan
Carolina Panthers: Cam Newton, Steve Smith

The AFC South cover candidates for Madden 13 came out today with arguably the weakest combination of NFL stars so far.  There are a few stars like Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, and Andre Johnson that could do very well but the rest of the players don’t stand much of a chance.

Jake Locker and Blaine Gabbert have absolutely no business being in the competition.  Most agree that Blaine Gabbert is the worst starter on the already bad Jacksonville Jaguars.  He ended the Madden 12 season with a rating of only 70 overall.  MJD will have no problem cruising to a victory in the first round.  Chris Johnson will do the same in his matchup against teammate Jake Locker.

With Peyton Manning’s future uncertain, the 2 players from the Colts that were nominated are their star pass rushers Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis.  Both are very good at what they do but neither has the star power to go very deep in the tournament.  Check out the full list of cover candidates for the AFC South below.

Houston Texans: Arian Foster, Andre Johnson
Jacksonville Jaguars: Blaine Gabbert, Maurice Jones-Drew
Tennessee Titans: Chris Johnson, Jake Locker
Indianapolis Colts: Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis

The cover candidates represent the AFC East have been revealed.  2 players from the each team (Dolphins, Bills, Patriots, and Jets) will have the opportunity to win over fans across the country.  One of the most shocking omissions from the tournament is Patriots QB Tom Brady.  This could be because EA Sports can’t afford to sign a deal with someone as big as Tom Brady or Brady is a superstitious man afraid of the Madden Curse.

The Buffalo Bills gave us the 2 weakest candidates in the field so far in QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and WR Stevie Johnson.  Whoever gets out of their first round matchup will likely get demolished in the next round.  The 2 favorites coming out of the AFC East are Darrelle Revis and Wes Welker.  Both are the best at what they do and have loyal fans from big cities.  Check out the full list below.

New York Jets: Mark Sanchez, Darrelle Revis
New England Patriots: Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker
Buffalo Bills: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson
Miami Dolphins: Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall
