The cover candidates represent the AFC East have been revealed.  2 players from the each team (Dolphins, Bills, Patriots, and Jets) will have the opportunity to win over fans across the country.  One of the most shocking omissions from the tournament is Patriots QB Tom Brady.  This could be because EA Sports can’t afford to sign a deal with someone as big as Tom Brady or Brady is a superstitious man afraid of the Madden Curse.

The Buffalo Bills gave us the 2 weakest candidates in the field so far in QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and WR Stevie Johnson.  Whoever gets out of their first round matchup will likely get demolished in the next round.  The 2 favorites coming out of the AFC East are Darrelle Revis and Wes Welker.  Both are the best at what they do and have loyal fans from big cities.  Check out the full list below.

New York Jets: Mark Sanchez, Darrelle Revis
New England Patriots: Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker
Buffalo Bills: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson
Miami Dolphins: Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall

Official NCAA Football 13 Website Launched

ncaa football 13 heisman vote

EA Sports has transitioned their website from NCAA Football 12 to NCAA Football 13 signaling a focus shift onto this year’s game.  The only news up on it so far is that Robert Griffin III will be featured on the cover and he will share it with a former Heisman trophy winner who will be decided in a tournament style vote starting on March 12th.

It is worth noting (although in all likelyhood just an error) that the title of their new website is “NCAA Football 13 | In Stores Now.”  The NCAA Football 13 release date was announced for July 10th.  You can check out the official NCAA Football 13 website at http://www.ea.com/ncaa-football.

NHL 12 Top 5 Plays of The Week

Since it’s release back in September, NHL 12 hasn’t had too much in the way of news but the guys at EA Sports have done a great job of keeping the community engaged in other ways like their top 5 plays of the week videos.  In this week’s highlight tape you will see a some fancy stick work, a diving save, and even a goalie getting embarrassed.  If you would like to enter your top plays for consideration, just follow the instructions on the video below.

afc west cover candidates for Madden NFL 13The cover candidates for the upcoming Madden 13 tournament started making their way out.  Today EA Sports released the 8 players that are eligible from the AFC West.  One division will be announced every day until  the start of the tournament on March 7th.

The Oakland Raiders have the 2 most unique players up for selection in kicker Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler.  I can already see some fans with a great sense of humor going all out to get a special teams player on the cover.  Whether EA Sports allows that to happen is another story entirely.

Tim Tebow and Von Miller represent the Denver Broncos.  Tebow is the odds on favorite to run away with the competition but no one expected Peyton Hillis to pull off an upset in every round on his way to the Madden 12 cover so Tebow is far from a sure thing.

Below is the full list of all 8 AFC West candidates for the Madden 13 Cover:

Oakland Raiders: Sebastian Janikowski, Shane Lechler
San Diego Chargers: Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates
Denver Broncos: Tim Tebow, Von Miller
Kansas City Chiefs: Dwayne Bowe, Derrick Johnson
